VMA’s Best Dressed Tribute.

Image

The VMA’s last night were pretty epic. It was a dream come to true to see my favorite boy band come back together for five seconds, But those five seconds were magical. No joke! So today I decided to do a blog post on my favorite best dressed ladies. First and foremost my #1 goes to Selena Gomez she looked too die for so i’ll start with her…

Image

1. Selena Gomez looked undeniably sexy in this navy blue floor length Versace gown. Her sexy gown also featured long sleeves, studded embellishments, a black sheer lace bustier, and a thigh-high slit that was jaw dropping. She looked flawless accenting her lips and nails in deep red color with a dramatic cat eye to glam up the look. Loved everything about her look.

Image

2. Rita Ora made a statement last night and looked ultra fierce in this baby blue Alexandre Vauthier gown which consisted of a feathery skirt with a train and a high slit. The long sleeved top was sequined with a plunging neckline that was completly flattering. This gown did have a lot going on but I loved it and she rocked it well. finishing off the look in her 40’s bob, moderate makeup, and black and gold Christian Louboutin sandals.

3. Lady gaga completely surprised me by looking so normal, But normal did her good. Loved this black gothic PVC Prabal Gurung dress. I loved the bulky bow around her waist which flattered her figure quite well. The sheer low back and low cut front equalled well to not be so over revealing. Gaga worked this dress. Her wig and septum piercing were the only downfall I must say.

Image

4. Taylor Swift wore an incredible midnight blue Herve Leger bandage gown. Such a different look for her. She looked so sophisticated with a low cut jeweled neckline, and body hugging bandage dress that gave her a beautiful figure. Her hair was in retro pinned curls with the matching retro makeup look from the 1920’s. I love any look from the 20’s and I really loved Taylor all around look. She was so on point.

So these were my four favorite looks from the MTV VMA’s 2013. What were yours?

XOXO,

Steph.

Gold Rush.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageFall trend alert… Gold Metallic clothing pieces are beyond gorge and super fashionable this fall. Metallic finishes and iridescent fabrics are shining all over the place from major fashion shows and onto trendy streets. Gold is bringing a fresh color look into the fall season. Many designers are incorporating this shiny texture into clothes as tastefully as they can and it is a SUCCESS! Just throw a touch of gold in your every day outfit and feel glammed. From bags, accessories, jackets, shorts, shoes, and especially dresses with a minimal embellishment is just the way to do it. Gold is dazzling all over the place so when you see a cute piece that is goldy grab it ASAP.

Stay Golden,

Steph.

Eat. Sleep. Denim.

ImageImageImageImageImageFashion can’t seem to retire chic denim. Regardless of the weather hot or cold it’s always a perfect time to play out denim pieces that can be dressed down to a casual lunch or dress up for a night out in the town. Trend reports have spotted EVERYONE in denim. Denim has remained it’s classic ways with a minor twist of patterns, prints, colors, and different cuts with a simple but cool change. Denim lovers be please to stock up! I love Levi’s espically the refurbished ones you can by at Urban Outfitters or better yet the RoseBowl Flea Market for that full vintage feel. Here’s some demin essentials your gonna need…Image

1. Denim Dress- This is so MAJ right now. So simple. Wear it how you see it. If your a belt person go ahead and add one on if not then put on some jewelry and a cute pair of wedges and go.

2. Denim Shirts – Has been a long time trend but still hot. Wear it on a hot summer or a cool fall night with a denim skirt, shorts, or pants for that demin on demin look or with non-demin bottoms. Or as I like to do with a floral dress with the demin shirt tied around my waist with a pair of black booties.

3. Denim Jackets – Immediately after slipping it on roll up the sleeves to about forearm slash elbow length. You can literally throw it on with about anthing. A dress, with a tshirt and jeans, leather, whatever. Either way it’s gonna look amazing.

4. Jeans- This takes us back to the basics. Definitely buy a pair that makes sense in your life. I’m personally a skinny jeans kinda girl, but be open minded when it comes to jeans and try as many as you can on till you find a great fit for you. You want a pair that is fitting and more importantly flattering to your body.

5. Boyfriend Jeans – Have become super trendy lately. Fold the hem up one inch from the bottem and do it again. (it doesnt have to be perfect just even to each other) Wear your distressed boyfriend jeans with a pair of statement heels loose or tight shirt with a edgy blazer or cardigan. Boyfriend jeans are every where this fall.

Hope you enjoy by Eat. Sleep. Denim blog today. Fun fact before we end. The average woman owns seven pairs of jeans, but wears just four. Who would of thought?

Steph

Retro Hair.

ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Old Hollywood hair glam is so chic! Chic! Chic!. This vintage look has literally become the “IT” look the past few years. Gatsby ladies are knocking out the red carpets, award shows, and the streets with this roaring 20’s hair due. This sleek and sophisticated look has been the hair of choice lately and more and more celebs and girls have been choosing this look over the traditional updo’s. Luckily this glamourous angelic retro style is easy to do at home. How too…

1. Choose a side and do a deep straight hair part. (Play around and see what side looks best on you)

2. Use a curling iron. Then separate your hair into medium sections going the same direction down your head towards your face.

3. Once you curled your whole head… Hair spray Lightly.

4. Then carefully brush throw your curls to seperate them into one finger wave. Then hair spray again to hold.

Practice is required…

So privileged and honored to get my old hollywood hair glammed by the talented Jesse Arana. He is part of the Moroccan Hair Oil world team, also designed for many hair shows also including doing runway hair during fashion week for Alice + Olive, Burrberry, Marchesa, and etc… Hope my tips come helpful when your trying this look out.

Stay Glammed,

Plaid Skirts.

ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Summer trends are coming to an end and back to school trends are officially here.  If your just obsessed with Clueless and Cher Horowitz just as much as I am then your in luck. Girlie plaid skirts are back in. Skirts have this perfect way of staying on top of trends in multiple different ways by styles, colors, prints, lengths, and textures. Channel your inner Cher by wearing a mini plaid skirt with high knee socks and a plat-formed heel. As If! Even Dolce & Gabbana, Alice + Olivia, Zara, and Valentino seem to agree on this trend as also seen on fall 2013 runways. Everyone is craving this preppy classic mix. Start investing into your Autumn wardrobe and get that chic look of being a school girl slash cool girl.

Ear Cuffs.

ImageImageImageImageImage

This playful jewelry trend has gotten everyone’s attention. Statement pieces have been getting a bit crazier over the seasons but no one is complaining but joining. Fashionista’s everywhere are loving this ear hugging accessories big time. This edgy trend does NOT require a painful piercing just a simple placement around or on the ear cartilage. The ear cuff has no sign of slowing down PERIOD! They look so chic with sleek back hair look completely showing off ears with a feminine seductive look. Whether your feeling sexy or girlie there is plenty of adoring ear cuffs to choose from.

Stay Chic,

Steph.

Cute Out Lace Jumpsuit.

ImageImageImage

My newest recent buy was from TopShop the “Cut Out Lace Jumpsuit”. The moment I laid my eyes on it at the TopShop Las Vegas store I knew I had to have it. Fall season is approaching and this jumpsuit outfit has that elegance in bring the autumn off just right. This black Lace trim jumpsuit has a gorge front cut out detail and deep V back. This onsie literally fits me like a glove on a chic level. It has a very sophisticated feel that should only be worn to a nice dinner, job interview, or a formal event with a pair of heels as shown on the model above, or my own personal preference would be with a pair of pointy black heels. I’m obsessed so bring out your bold side this upcoming season. My Look…ImageStay Chic,

Sleeve Rolling.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Rolling your T-shirt sleeves isn’t really a trend more of a preference look but I love it. Even though I have been noticing more and more celebs and fashion bloggers are starting to do it. I think it adds a fashionable finishing touch to the simplicity look of just a basic tee. It’s so nonchalant and easy. It may seem simple, but your sleeve rolling has to be on point. Tips how too… First roll on that first seem, and repeat again. The sleeve should be rolled 2-3 time but no more, over 4 times makes it look overly bulky which kills the look. Pay attention to my picture inspo up top of Karlie Kloss, Alexa Chung, fashion blogger Sincerly Jules, and etc for more examples. Go for a casual look by rolling up your sleeve with a pair of jean shorts or skinny jeans which creates that perfect little chic look. An 80’s flash back look with a bang bang. Now roll up.

Stay Chic. XOXO,

Steph

The Beanie.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

You may already own one of these babies so you might as well get a head start…. Get it? Head start? Or you’re probably wondering how can it be this warm cozy hair trend spread all the way from the 90’s? Beanies have made a huge come back since march 2013. Weird right? Yet this grungy trend is our hat of choice and it’s here to stay into fall and possibly winter season. Think any color it goes with a basic look pulled over your head hiding that not so great hair day while still looking oh so amazing. Slouchy beanies are in and pretty practical for an every day basic look. Even though the weather isn’t looking a little bitter this summer, it’s still very wearable with any summer outfit of your choice. Beanies oh yes beanies. And everyone seems to agree by spotted fashion forward people everywhere.

Steph.
